Elland based sealing technology business, Garlock (Great Britain) Limited, has acquired gasket converter, Northern Gaskets and Mouldings Limited (NGM) of Batley.  The acquisition by Garlock is an important strategic investment as it gears up its UK operation for growth.

NGM, a distributor of sealing products and a manufacturer of gaskets from materials including Garlock GYLON® will provide Garlock with valuable direct access to end users while benefiting from access to   Garlock’s global technical and financial resources.

Established 14 years ago by directors Paul Stanfield and Phil Brumfield, NGM has a large and varied customer base with strong relationships in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical and oil and gas industries.  NGM, which employs 13 people, will remain in Batley and benefit from the corporate resources of Garlock.  Garlock’s history began in 1887 and its global operations deliver products into diverse markets such as F1 motor sport, mining equipment, 0il and gas production and processing and nuclear power generation.

Stuart Phythian, Managing Director of Garlock (Great Britain) Limited, commented, “NGM adds considerable capability to Garlock’s UK operation.  It allows us valuable direct access to end users of our products and completes the service we offer by providing a bespoke gasket production service.  We further expect NGM to benefit from the vertical integration of resources and capabilities and the consolidation of operational tasks.

”NGM’s management will remain in place with Paul Stanfield serving as Sales Director and Phil Brumfield as Operations Manager”
